Two men from California are accused of shattering a woolly mammoth tusk worth $200,000 at an exhibit in Branson, Missouri.
The incident took place at the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, located within Top of the Rock, a popular spot offering recreation and attractions.
Investigators with the Taney County Sheriff’s Office said Brett Howard and Todd Azevedo face felony property damage charges.
Investigators said Howard climbed onto the shoulders of Azevedo and attempted to hang from the tusk of a woolly mammoth skeleton. The tusk fell to the ground and shattered.
The tusk weighed approximately 200 pounds and was valued at around $200,000.
