Visitors were evacuated from the Toledo Zoo Friday morning after the zoo received a bomb threat, according to Toledo police. No one was injured, and no one is in custody at this time.
By noon, Toledo police told media it had rendered the area safe, and that no one was in custody. It also re-confirmed that no one was injured.
A Toledo police spokesperson told media that the zoo received a call for a bomb threat, as well as possible shots fired around 10:30 a.m. The zoo was evacuated, and nothing has been found at this time. No shooters were found, nor were any bombs located.
Toledo police said school buses and students were evacuated safely. Evacuations went smoothly, TPD said.
When asked about a bomb threat at the Louisville Zoo, which the Kentucky zoo posted about to its social media Friday, TPD said it was focused on the Toledo Zoo at this time.
