The J. Paul Getty Trust will sell $500 million in bonds to beef up its protection from fire and other acts of God, such as earthquakes, according to an official filing. The proceeds will be used to invest in new boilers, irrigation and surveillance systems, water storage, communications systems, emergency management software, and firefighting equipment. The bonds will be available starting Thursday, April 3. A museum spokesperson declined to comment.
