The City Museum in St. Louis is asking for the public’s help identifying several people caught on security cameras breaking in after hours earlier this week.
St. Louis police said a group of men broke into the museum at about 11:55 p.m. Monday, causing property damage and stealing merchandise from the gift shop
In a Facebook post on Friday, the museum addressed the break-in with humor, writing that the group took a "self-guided, after-hours tour through the museum. They even found a few things they liked in the gift shop to take home! Sadly, they forgot to leave any contact or payment information, so we’re not sure who to invoice for the sweatpants and broken doors."
The museum said its alarm system was triggered, but the group left before police arrived.
The three suspects drove off in a dark-colored sedan, police said.
