An electrical fire has temporarily closed Via Aquarium in Rotterdam, the facility says. The fire occurred Monday morning behind its Cape Cod/California exhibits, and the displays in Via Port Rotterdam remained closed Tuesday morning, according to the aquarium's Facebook page. It added the site's fire suppression system "worked as designed and the fire was contained to the one box." Area fire departments responded to the fire. The animals didn't need to be moved. "Despite our initial fears and worries, this turned out to be a minor incident, with no loss of animal (life) and no injury to staff or responders," the statement says. The aquarium needs to complete system checks and inspections before reopening, it said Tuesday morning. https://lnkd.in/gQkyiHQQ
