A work of art stolen decades ago from the Balaton Museum in Keszthely, József Egry’s print titled Lady in a Hat has been recovered, reported the National Bureau of Investigation of the Standby Police (KR NNI). Based on their statement, the KR NNI returned the artwork to the Balaton Museum in recent days. The Department of Cultural Assets at the Ministry of Construction and Transportation filed a report with the police early last year after learning that a valuable artwork that had been missing for more than twenty years was being offered for sale on an online auction marketplace. Based on the new information, investigators are now working to determine how the painting ended up in the gallery, in order to track down the person who stole it from the museum at the time, https://lnkd.in/gAWQZ6i4
