Amid a looming city budget deficit, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco may be making sweeping cuts, including layoffs and reduced operating hours.
The most substantial changes would affect the city-funded security team, which would need to terminate about 20 full-time security guard positions, accounting for $2.6 million in savings for the city.
The proposal also calls for the elimination of positions in security management, human resources and museum operations.
