Some time between Christmas 2021 and early January 2022, Jeffrey Wood stole the world-famous portrait of a scowling, wartime Winston Churchill, titled The Roaring Lion, from Ottawa's Château Laurier hotel, replacing it with a fake. At the Ottawa Courthouse on Monday, Wood was sentenced to two years less a day in custody. He was then placed in handcuffs and taken into custody. https://lnkd.in/giVbB

A visitor to the Moscow Zoo tried to poison several lynx and leopards, General Director Svetlana Akulova announced in a statement on May 27, after a routine inspection revealed “scattered pills of unknown origin” in the animals' enclosures. Surveillance cameras captured footage of an unidentified man throwing the pills over the enclosure barriers. “This was not an accident or a prank; this was a d
