Over the past week the Cultural Safeguard Alliance team visitied Seattle's rich cultural landscape! Our mission to advocate for cultural property protection was strengthened through meaningful connections with dedicated professionals across numerous prestigious institutions. At the Seattle Art Museum, we gained valuable insights on security innovations from Ahamad C. and Geoffrey Sammons, with special appreciation to Danielle Nicas for her support. The remarkable exhibits reinforced how art preservation shapes community identity. Our journey continued through Seattle's iconic institutions - the Seattle Aquarium (thanks to Wendy Pate and Scott Roseburrough for their hospitality), historic Pike Place Market PDA, and Tacoma Art Museum (thanks to Matthew Daugherty). Chris Caiola rolled out the red carpet at the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass, while Jeremiah Meno provided exceptional access at the Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP). The dedicated team at Woodland Park Zoo, led by Alan Stetson, showcased their impressive operations. At The Museum of Flight, Roscell Lopez-Pitts and Raveena Pillay demonstrated their commitment to protecting priceless aviation history. A highlight was presenting CSA's mission at the Seattle HEAT meeting hosted by the National Nordic Museum, connecting with Seattle Police Department - Joe Elenbaas , Washington State Fusion Center, and Seattle Parks and Recreation - Ranger Division to strengthen our collaborative network for cultural property protection. Special recognition to Ilan Levine, CPP, PSP, CIPM II at the Frye Art Museum for coordinating this extraordinary itinerary.
